After

A slope that turned to mud every storm is now three planted terraces and a flagstone patio the family uses every evening.

The Rosens’ backyard dropped six feet from the house to the fence, and every heavy rain sent mud across the lawn and into the basement window wells.

We regraded the slope into three terraces held by dry-laid stone walls, added a French drain behind the top wall and built a 300-square-foot flagstone patio at the bottom where the yard finally levels out.

The result

No more mud, a patio that drains in minutes, and planted terraces that look better every season.

“They turned a muddy slope behind our house into terraced beds and a patio we use every single evening.”
