Visiting

Is there parking?

Yes, free parking right out front, with two accessible spaces by the café door. On busy Saturdays there’s more along Laurel Avenue.

Can I bring my dog?

Leashed dogs are welcome in the nursery and on the café patio, and we keep water bowls by the door. Inside the café, only service animals, because of health rules.

Are you open every day?

Yes. The garden center and café are open seven days a week, with shorter hours in January and February. Holiday closings are on our Contact page.

Café

Do you have gluten-free and vegan food?

Yes. The menu marks vegetarian (V), vegan (VG) and gluten-free (GF) dishes, and the kitchen can adjust most plates. Tell us about allergies when you order.

Can I reserve a table?

We don’t take reservations, but tables turn over quickly. For 10 or more, call ahead and we’ll set up the long table in the greenhouse.

Do you have Wi-Fi?

Yes, free Wi-Fi and plenty of outlets. Laptops are welcome, though we ask that you share the big tables at lunchtime.

Garden center

Do you guarantee your plants?

Trees, shrubs and perennials from the garden center are guaranteed for one year. If one dies, bring the tag and receipt and we’ll replace it or give you store credit.

Do you deliver plants?

Yes. We deliver within 20 miles for $45, free on orders over $400, and our crew can plant them for you too.

Can you help me choose plants for my yard?

Bring photos and rough measurements to the Saturday garden clinic, or ask anyone in a green apron. For a whole-yard plan, book a free design visit.

Private events

How many guests can the greenhouse hold?

Up to 60 seated or 100 standing. For smaller groups we close off half the room, so it still feels full.

Can we bring our own food or drinks?

The café caters every event in the greenhouse, but you’re welcome to bring your own cake. Wine and beer are served by our staff.

How far ahead should we book?

Saturdays in May, June and October book three to four months out. Weeknights and winter dates are often open with a few weeks’ notice.

Working with us

Do you charge for estimates?

No. On-site estimates for build projects are always free. Detailed design plans are billed separately and credited toward the build if you hire us.

How far out are you booking?

Maintenance plans can usually start within two weeks. Larger build projects typically book four to eight weeks out, a little longer in spring.

Which areas do you serve?

Asheville, Black Mountain, Weaverville, Fletcher and the rest of Buncombe County. Not sure if you’re in our area? Give us a call.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. We’re an NC Certified Landscape Contractor with full liability and workers’ comp coverage. We’re happy to send certificates.

Do you guarantee your work?

Yes. Plants and workmanship are guaranteed for two years. If something we built or planted fails, we come back and make it right.

Do you work on steep or sloped yards?

All the time. Most of Asheville is a slope! Terracing, retaining walls and erosion control are some of our favorite projects.

Patios

How much does a stone patio cost?

Most flagstone patios we build land between $28 and $45 per square foot, depending on stone, access and site prep. We’ll give you a fixed price after a free site visit.

Natural stone or pavers?

Natural stone has a timeless, organic look. Pavers are more uniform and slightly more budget-friendly. We’ll bring samples of both.

Do I need a permit?

Most patios don’t, but retaining walls over four feet do. We handle permits whenever they’re required.

Maintenance

What’s included in a maintenance plan?

Plans are billed monthly from March through November, and every plan includes a spring and fall walk-through with your crew leader. See the plans and prices on our Services page.
